Our Basic Beliefs
There is one God, the Creator of the Universe. He is revealed in the unity of the Godhead as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the world. Born of the Virgin Mary, He declared His deity among men, died on the cross as the only sacrifice for sin, arose bodily from the grave, and ascended back to the Father where he intercedes for believers.
The Holy Spirit is the manifest presence of deity. He convicts of sin, teaches spiritual truths according to the written Word of God, indwells believers, and enables believers to render effective spiritual service.
The Bible is God's inerrant revelation, written by divinely inspired men as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
The Devil is a person, who opposes all that is godly, tempts men to sin, and opposes the Lord Jesus Christ.
All mankind, since the fall in the garden of Eden, are sinners by nature and by choice, and can only be saved through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Salvation is based wholly on the grace of God apart from works. Anyone who will exercise repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved. All who are saved are eternally secure.
The New Testament Church is a local congregation of baptized believers, who are united by covenant in belief of what God has revealed and in obedience to what He has commanded. She acknowledges Jesus as her only head, and the Bible as her only rule of faith and practice. She was instituted by Jesus during His personal ministry on earth. Her two ordinances are baptism and the Lord's Supper.
We believe in the premillennial return of Christ to the earth. There will be two resurrections: the first of the righteous at Christ's coming, and the second of the wicked at the close of the ten thousand-year reign.
Heaven is the eternal home of the redeemed. Hell is the place of eternal punishment and suffering for the devil, his angels, and the unredeemed.
